LIT-Lopez Institute for Teachers

The Lopez Institute for Teachers (LIT) is a series of teacher preparation courses delivered by author and educational leader, Dr. Nadia Lopez. During these trainings Dr. Lopez provides knowledge and tools that most higher education instuitions don't provide, LIT gives educators the keys to WYN (What You Need) as a teacher. Course One: BRIDGE

In week one of L.I.T, we provide the BRIDGE to fill the gaps missed in higher education.

Course Two: TAP IN

At the heart of teaching is building relationships and creating a nurturing learning environment, which positively impacts classroom management. Week two, in L.I.T. In this class, we will explore how you TAP IN to your students and create bonds that will last beyond their time with you.

Course Three: TEACH

Teaching is not easy, it requires time for planning, a commitment to developing your craft, and always having your scholars at the center of your work. There are so many moving parts that include knowing your content, understanding the standards, and designing engaging lessons. that will be engaging. Learn what it takes to TEACH and how to become your best at your profession.

Course Four: S.O.S

How will you know what you or your scholars need help with academically or social-emotionally? The answer is data! When analyzed properly it can reveal what is working well and what needs improvement. This class builds your awareness to know when to send out an SOS before you feel defeated or isolated.

Course Five: ESCAPE

Becoming an educator is a true calling that serves others, but sustainability in this profession requires you to prioritize yourself. You must be intentional about monitoring your time and carving out self-care to ESCAPE.
